The last few days have been unfortunately very trying. Russ’ dad passed away yesterday. He was a strong, and as stubborn as they come kind of man, who lived his life according to his own terms and went out the same way. As focus now turns to Russ’ mom, who after 58 years has to learn to live without her mate, the family comes together to ensure her health is covered and her emotional needs are met.
As we spent most of the day yesterday bedside in the hospital, it turns out that my dad also is battling an illness in a hospital in Las Vegas. My mom didn’t tell me because of all the things we were dealing with already. It appears that he has some internal bleeding and the doctors are unable to determine exactly where the bleeding is coming from, so today, they are running a battery of tests. When it first started, they, mom and dad, believed it was his diverticulitis acting up. But after an hour or so with no letting up, she took him to the hospital. Due to lack of experienced staff to handle what he is going through, they have since flown him out to Nellis in Nevada. My sister and brother-in-law are with mom and I am just waiting to hear on the results of his tests. This will determine if I need to be there, whether I am driving out there or flying.
So for now, Live, Laugh and Love freely…. tomorrow is never promised.
